Each year since 1983, Logistics Management has surveyed a representative sample of its readers to evaluate the transportation logistics service providers that they use. More than 4,649 logistics and supply chain decision makers cast their votes for the carriers and 3PLs providing outstanding customer satisfaction and performance excellence over the past year.
The six-month long research and survey process ranks transportation service providers on five key criteria: On-time Performance, Value, Information Technology, Customer Service, and Equipment & Operations. A different set of criteria is used to judge companies in the third-party categories. Third-party logistics providers are rated on the following attributes: Carrier Selection & Negotiation, Customer Service/Value Add (Warehousing & Distribution), Order Fulfillment, Transportation & Distribution, Inventory Management, and Logistics Information Systems.
